Lyrics

You can see her sitting there most every evening
Long red nails ‘round a long-stemmed glass
And the jewelry that glitters on her fingers
Makes you wonder in passing ‘bout her past.

She was once a rich man’s pretty daughter
Golden hair, rosy cheeks, she was the apple of his eye
There was nothing that he hadn’t bought her
She didn’t even have to try.

CHORUS
Far too much, and much too easy
Far too much, and way too fast
What comes easy is soon forgotten
What’s qained quickly rarely lasts.

Fancy people, fancy places, fancy parties
Always looking around for something new
All the boys tried so hard just to please her
But she grew tired, as rich girls often do.

CHORUS

BRIDGE
And who would ever guess it
And who could have foreseen
That daddy’s little princess
Woud grow up to be a barroom queen.

You can see her sitting there most every evening
Long red nails ‘round a long-stemmed glass
And the men who tried so hard once to please her
Will tell you this if you care to ask:

CHORUS
Far too much, and much too easy
Far too much, and way too fast
What comes easy is soon forgotten
What’s gained quickly rarely lasts.

What’s gained quickly rarely lasts.

THE VOTE SONG is intended as a rally song. Infused with an engaging reggae beat and a powerful chant, it is an upbeat call to action -- simple, legal, peaceful and realistic action: Just vote! While the song enumerates many of the problems we face these days, it is intended to provide an inspiring alternative to despair.
It is my passionate hope that this song will motivate at least a few people to turn their outrage into hope, and "get out there and vote!"
