CRAZY EDDIE GOT A GUN

I read the headline
Another shooting at a school
A senseless nightmare
By another crazy fool
His name was Eddie
Mental problems from the war
But at the gun store
No one checks that anymore.

CHORUS:
Oh Mama, poor Mama
What has this world become
That a sweet child should perish
By the hand of anyone?
Oh Mama,
He should’ve never had a gun.
But that is what the NRA has done.

I heard the story
Of an accident at home
A blind old lady
Grew afraid to live alone.
She bought a pistol
And when her neighbor rang the bell
She thought:  a burglar, and meant to scare him
She fired. Her neighbor fell.

CHORUS:
Oh Mama, poor Mama
What has this world become
That a good man should perish
By the hand of anyone?
Oh Mama,
She should’ve never had a gun.
But that is what the NRA has done.

BRIDGE:
And it gets worse, that endless curse
Of greed, from day to day
They’ll sell a gun to anyone
As long as they can pay
The criminal, abusive spouse
Terrorist or dealer
All the suspects on “No Fly” lists
They’re OK with the NRA.

Now crazy Eddie
Is locked up in the pen
But all the prisons
Can’t bring loved ones back again.
Congress has failed us
In the cruelest, shameful way
They’re in the pocket
Of the good old NRA

CHORUS:
Oh Mama, poor Mama
What has this world become
That a sweet child should perish
By the hand of anyone?
Oh Mama
Crazy Eddie got a gun.
And that is what the NRA has done.
Yeah that...is what the NRA has done.
